While knowledge of windows mobile & wireless technologies would be a plus, the main thing we’re looking for is the basics – solid test skills, proven feature ownership with the ability to drive dev & PM to resolution, strong automation abilities and proven problem solving skills. Given the dynamic nature of the team it’s also important to have good communication skills and customer focus. Senior candidates need to demonstrate a solid history of focus on engineering excellence as we build the team up for new projects.
and the typical Job Description for the SDET role:
The job will entail owning and delivering on all aspects necessary to deliver new feature work in upcoming releases. SDET's will be responsible for delivering all test collateral for their feature including test plans, automation, tool support, participating in feature triage teams with PM and Dev, and possibly directing CSG to support manual testing. Qualified candidates should have strong manual and automated testing ability, good communication skills, a minimum of 1 year experience testing and shipping Microsoft products as well as demonstrable programming skills. A BA/BS degree in a CS or other related discipline is preferred. Experience with Windows CE, C#, and cellular phone systems are a plus.
