Micro-Study of an Email Solicitation Campaign in the Blogosphere

I rarely get this kind of email request to post something on my weblog, which is somewhat surprising. Honestly, I haven't even installed WinFX but I have seen it running. I have no association with the WinFX team other than I work at the company that's building it and know at least one person on the team. I can't wait to have enough cycles to play with XAML and WinFX so this is, as much as anything, a note to self.

"I was hoping that you could enter a quick Blog on our XAML Designer for WinFX, Aurora. The beta is available free of charge and now that PDC is coming up, curiosity should be increasing. It would great if you could ask your readers to try it out. Here is the link:

I hope you can.
Thanks!"

I'll be interested to see who else blogs about this.. Let's use MSN BlogSearch to monitor the blogosphere for xaml winfx aurora contains:(rss OR xml OR rdf OR atom). Not an exact science since this also picks up newsgroups/forums too but it's pretty easy to filter out the blog posts individually. Upon writing this post, there were 167 results for this search. The top 3 posts were:

  1. The 19th Hole - Avalon
  2. Stanimir Stoyanov’s Blog » 2005 » May
