How To: Report Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Bugs
If you get a chance to install and play around with the Community Technology Preview of Visual Studio Team Foundation in late 2004 or one of the Beta releases in early 2005 and if you encounter a product bug or want to make a feature suggestion--especially something related to documentation--please raid it in Ladybug.
Use of "Raid" as a Verb Prior to 2003, Microsoft's internal bug tracking application was an app called RAID, like the chemical goo that eliminates bugs so effectively. The company has since migrated to a more robust issue management system called Product Studio, which will soon be available publicly as an integrated part of Visual Studio Team Foundation. To this day, it is not uncommon to hear a Microsoft employee say, "Hey, I raided that but I was telling you about in the Product Studio database."
To Log a Team Foundation Bug
- Go to the main Ladybug page.
- Log in using your MSN Passport credentials (@hotmail or @msn email)
- Under Product/Technology, select Visual Studio 2005 Team System
- Investigate whether or not your bug and/or suggestion has already been logged by another user.
Note: This step is mandatory. Despite my wife's claims to the contrary, I can't cope with 568 bugs for the same issue. - Fill in the form. Here's an example.
