Troubleshooting in BAM Tools Configuration

Q01. I un-configured BAM Tools using the “Actions > Unconfigure Features” menu item, but I still see the BAMPrimaryImport and BAMArchive databases are read-only when I enable the BAM Tools page the next time. Why?
A01. The “Actions > Unconfigure Features” menu item and “configuration.exe /u” command are no-ops for BAM Tools, except that the selected, read-only “The Business Activity Monitoring tools feature is currently configured. To unconfigure click Actions, then click Unconfigure” checkbox will become the unselected, editable “Enable Business Activity Monitoring tools” checkbox. BAM Tools can only be un-configured for the Group by selecting the “Remove the Business Activity Monitoring tools for this BizTalk Group” checkbox and then clicking “Apply Configuration”. This behavior is necessary because BAM Tools is a group-level feature and can be shared across multiple groups. The “Actions > Unconfigure Features” menu item and “configuration.exe /u” command allow BizTalk to be un-configured on a machine without un-configuring BAM for the entire group or for other groups using the same BAM Tools feature.

Q02. I removed BAM Tools using the “Remove the Business Activity Monitoring tools for this BizTalk Group” checkbox, but the BAM Tools page still shows a selected, read-only checkbox: “The Business Activity Monitoring tools feature is currently configured. To unconfigure click Actions, then click Unconfigure”. Why?
A02. The “Remove …” checkbox does not change this selected, read-only checkbox even though BAM Tools is removed from the BizTalk Group. The “Actions > Unconfigure Features” menu item and “configuration.exe /u” command will make this checkbox will become the unselected, editable “Enable Business Activity Monitoring tools” checkbox. See A01 for more information.
