Weekend update

It's Memorial Day weekend and I'm actively updating my Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition base image with the latest updates from Microsoft Update and then installing Visual Studio 2005 Team System Beta 2. I'm also preparing for my session on architecture with Visual Studio Team System at Chicago's Visual Studio 2005 Dev Con on June 1.

I'm fortunate being an evangelist during this time of year ... most of Microsoft's field sales force is actively working to close business before the end of our fiscal year at the end of this month.  Evangelism is a long-term focused job so my work is effectively "done" for this fiscal year.  What does this mean for me?  I plan on taking the second week of June through the end of the month - possibly with a dip into July - to stay in the office and focus purely on technology.  I've been talking about all the great, new stuff long enough and it's time to spend some quality time in hands-on mode.  Stuff on the plate include:

  • Visual Studio Team System
    • ASP.NET 2.0
    • .NET Framework 2.0
    • Team Foundation Server
  • Avalon
  • Indigo
