Weekend update

It’s Memorial Day weekend and I’m actively updating my Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition base image with the latest updates from Microsoft Update and then installing Visual Studio 2005 Team System Beta 2. I’m also preparing for my session on architecture with Visual Studio Team System at Chicago’s Visual Studio 2005 Dev Con on June 1.

I’m fortunate being an evangelist during this time of year … most of Microsoft’s field sales force is actively working to close business before the end of our fiscal year at the end of this month.  Evangelism is a long-term focused job so my work is effectively “done” for this fiscal year.  What does this mean for me?  I plan on taking the second week of June through the end of the month – possibly with a dip into July – to stay in the office and focus purely on technology.  I’ve been talking about all the great, new stuff long enough and it’s time to spend some quality time in hands-on mode.  Stuff on the plate include:

  • Visual Studio Team System

    • ASP.NET 2.0

    • .NET Framework 2.0

    • Team Foundation Server

  • Avalon

  • Indigo

Same here. I’m working on Indigo this weekend. I’m trying to become a hardcore indigo expert. That is my goal right now. Indigo is really awesome…after I finish Indigo I’ll jump into Avalon. Though its hard when u have a work environment where they don’t look into the future that far..but being the person I am….technoloty hungry always wanting live in the future…and want to code everything for my self…I just want to be there as an expert when it comes out..
