Long Live Dominos Pizza and the Smart Client

I love the fact
that dominos.com has online ordering. I’m also amazed that from the time
I submit my order to the time it shows up at the door is usually around 20 minutes.
Yet it still takes me too long to order. The amount of time I spend on the Web
site is, in my opinion, disproportionate to how long it takes the food to arrive.
I don’t want it to take more than 30 seconds to login and place my order –
but it does.

I want a Windows
Longhorn smart client application that could talk to dominos.com a la the amazon.com
demo we saw at PDC. Persist my preferences on my machine, grab some specials
off the Internet when I launch it just to entice me to buy something else and let
me click “Order.” Don’t make me fumble around on the Web site
to do the same thing I do every time.

Long live Dominos
and the Smart Client!
