An Article on Software Factories

Now that we’re back from TechEd 2004, it’s back to the grind again. I’ve pointed out in other postings that Jack Greenfield and I have authored a book on modern approaches to software development called “Software Factories: Assembling Applications using Patterns, Frameworks, Models and Tools” due for publication by John Wiley in July 04. I had mentioned several of the key ideas in my talk at Tech Ed. Well we are now receiving copy editing proofs back - so that fills all my out of work time for this week and the weekend!

The website that discusses the book is still not ready with content, but Jack has written a brief piece that is now up on MSDN here.  Over the next few weeks, we’ll be publishing content on the website, and also other articles on MSDN that explain what we mean by a software factory.
