YouTube has porn?

Sure do. This Mashable headline caught my eye cause I'm tired of flagging inappropriate content on photo sharing sites in hopes of keeping them clean for my kids.  But YouTube's new beta venture eroticr seems to be doing porn right, with a dedicated site for 'members only' that can be locked down in Parental Controls and left open for grown-ups who want to browse.

To be fair, the stuff on eroticr is pretty light stuff.  Looks like they're steering clear of the DMCA and child porn (images of adults only) with plenty of warnings about uploading copyrighted content. This site is supposed to show “erotica” only, rather than “pornography”. It's certainly not meant to compete with pornotube or xtube, and even flurl seems racier.

Not at all surprising to see, as Mashable reports that adult content is "hot" on social sites and that Pornotube was said to be growing faster than YouTube. Marketing Pilgrim believes that Flickr's status as the most popular photo site in the UK  last year can be attributed to soft porn.  Andrew Orlowski reports that a survey conducted by British ISP Homecall, 23 per cent of Britons are getting broadband for the porn, and it's by far the most important factor in getting wired.

If you're interested in checking out the eroticr interface, techcrunch forums has posted the passwords ‘techcrunch-eroticr’ or 'flickr-eroticr'.
