Configuring Datapump in IIS 7

Configuring HTTP Access to SQL Server 2005 or SQL 2008 Analysis Services on Microsoft Windows Server 2008

Getting Binaries
Copy the contents of the %Installation folder%\OLAP\bin\isapi directory into the folder you would like to become the base for the virtual directory in IIS.
In this example, we are going to copy all the files from the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\OLAP\bin\isapi (In SQL 2008 default location is D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSAS10.Instance Name\OLAP\bin\isapi) folder into the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\olap directory

Dear Karan, i have followed the steps to configure http access to analysis services on windows server 2008 but when testing but trying to connect to analysis via sql management studio by http://locahost/olap/msmdpump.dll

    i get this error message:

the remote server returned an error, 405 method not allowed… please help

  4. From Error message it doesn’t look like AS issue it looks more of IIS Error, request you to reconfigure it from the scratch and if it doesn’t work then open a case with Microsoft Customer Support Service (CSS).

  5. Error :the remote server returned an error, 405 method not allowed signifies that you are unable to invoke the method.

If you are running SSAS as 64 bit then msmdmp.dll would be also 64 bit.

So please make sure that IIS mode is aiso 64 bit.You can check the IIS mode by right clicking on Advanced settings on App pool. Then changing "Enable 32 bit application" to false.
