.NET From a Markup Perspective

Atlanta .NET User Group June Recap

The June Atlanta .NET User Group meeting was held at the Atlanta Microsoft office.  Michael Earls presented on Home Automation in .NET, and Ty Tydrick presented on WS-Security.

Some of the folks in attendance included Doug Turnure (great 1-post blog there, Doug), Doug Ware, Mark Dunn, and Jim Wooley

Michael Earls presents on Home Automation at the Atlanta .NET User Group

I forgot my camera, so I used the one in my phone. Crappy pic for a real camera, but pretty good for a phone.   This is Michael presenting on Home Automation… he used his cell phone to call into his web server, and used a polling app on his presentation machine to query the web server for changes.  When a change was detected… it turned on the lava lamp in front of him.  Very clever.

Late into the UG meeting, the lights suddenly went off, the projectors cut off, and the screens raised back up.  I think Michael rigged that with his cell phone as well.

The real fun was geeking out at The Derby afterwards over a couple pitchers of beer. Always great to hang out with everyone and talk about what’s going on in Atlanta.
