We have had over 130,000 successful downloads of the Windows SDK for Windows Vista since we went live last week. This is more downloads in one week than we had for either the RC1 or Beta 2 releases of the SDK in the many months since they went live.

At the same time, we have had many fewer user-reported errors with downloading the SDK than with any previous release at a similar point - only about ten. And eight of those ten errors were resolved by the user simply downloading the SDK again. Most of the reason for our fantastic improvement with download quality is due to the hard work that the Setup vteam put into making the download and setup of the SDK both robust and smart.

Our work isn't finished by any means. Even ten reported errors is too many. And we have a lot of work to do for our next releases, around reference counting and other under-the-hood improvements.

We'll also have DVDs available for purchase at a nominal cost within the next several weeks. Our vendor has the media and it is in the manufacturing phase now.

Please let me know if you have any problems with your setup of the Windows SDK.

(did I just jinx it? ☺)
