Scared of the Office Ribbon?

I don't understand this phenomenon myself, but I hear people bring it up. "Office 2007 is so different looking", or "I can't find my old commands." I'll keep my inside voice quiet here, but let's just say that I don't connect with this perception. The new Ribbon (i.e. fluent UI) is cool, and is a result of tons of study of Office usage. I find it very intuitive. There are those who still hold on to the antiquated and very large menu system of the past. I believe that after a few minutes, most people will change their minds about this.

However, if you're still apprehensive about this situation, here's another option. There is a project at Office Labs called Search Commands. This Office 2007 add-on's purpose is to assist folks in searching for their old Office command. You can find out more and download it here.

If you are really bored, check out the rap video this team created. While the lyric and background music is a little silly, you can view the capabilities of this add-on and nice features of Word.

There are a few caveats to this add-on (English only, no support, some people still don't like Office with it), but check it out.
