Sorry, but I can’t answer your email questions about Offline Files

Roger Needham taught me the phrase “success disaster”. A success disaster happens when a little project becomes so successful that it can’t grow quickly enough to keep up with the demand. And recently I’ve been having a success disaster with my offline files category of blog posts, because a lot of readers want individual questions answered by email.

There’s no way I can keep up with the demand and do my day job at the same time. Plus there’s the little matter of me not even being on the offline files team. So from now on I’ll be suggesting that readers use Microsoft Support, or just post their requests as comments instead.

Yes, this sucks. It would be great if the offline files team were blogging, or if product support could answer all your questions, but right now they’re not and they can’t. I’m not sure how to change this — start a petition, perhaps? 🙂

Edit: I've turned off comments on this thread - if you have a question, please go here instead.

I guess the offline files team’s blog is offline, waiting to be reconnected?

    I’m just hoping they START a blog…

  3. This is a catch-all post for user comments and questions about offline files, aka client-side caching.
