PINVOKE.NET Add-In for Visual Studio

While working on my little app to handle the character repeat setting on Windows XP, I came across this gem: an add-in for VS.NET that makes Win32 API gymnastics much easier. The PInvoke.NET Add-in for Visual Studio has a simple UI that connects up to a service, pulls the latest/greatest Win32 API info, and lets you easily insert the functions into your code in three languages. You can also contribute to the community-driven effort.

Here's a glance at the UI:

Take a look.

Rock Thought for the day: OK- I admit that today's rock thought is not exactly rock and roll. BUT! What makes great rock and roll is when a song has soul. I was listening to my favorite symphony: Henryk Gorecki's Symphony 3 Opus 36- Symphony of Sorrowful Songs again last night after I got my kids in bed. It is a transcendant experience to hear this masterpiece. If you have ever wondered if you could like "classical" music- here's your chance to find out. This goes way beyond the "Top 40" of the classical genre. Yes, I like the baroque period or bread-and-butter Beethoven/Mozart/etc. like anyone does, but those works have (regrettably) become nearly cliché because of overplay on radio. Gorecki's work is modern but universally accessible. It is moving and gripping. If this piece does not draw you in, nothing will.
