The Throbbing Floppy

In this era of networks and USB keys, why does Visual Studio show a throbbing floppy when it's saving work?

Just wondering.

  1. Doug says:

Probably because theres is no icon for hard drive that everyone would recognize.

  2. Nick says:

Not to mention that a throbbing hard disk might be considered pornographic compared to a floppy.

  3. Then again look how often an icon of a scroll is used for a document or script. When was the last time anyone unrolled a document 🙂
