A few months ago, Clusty launched a clustering search engine. I thought the idea was really interesting, but never got into the swing of using Clusty all the time because the search results weren’t of the same quality of, say, Google or MSN Search. Yesterday when I was rebuilding my system (twice a year whether it needs it or not) I went up to MSN’s Sandbox and found the Microsoft Research (Asia) Web Search and Mining Group’s version of this idea. Performance is a little slow (it’s a research project), but it’s fundamentally taking MSN Search’s results and clustering them usefully. When I search for “VB datagrid,” I get this. It’s worth a view.
