Throw The Yule Log On Uncle John

Yesterday we bought a Christmas tree. Originally, after much discussion, my wife and I had decided that we weren't going to "do" Christmas this year. But ever since the Christmas advertising began (shortly before Halloween!) I'd been rethinking this decision. There's just something about having trees and ornaments and lights. Of course, here in Seattle we really don't get snow or frost. So yesterday we bought a Christmas tree. A fake one. It's 4-1/2 feet tall, pre-lit, and looks exactly like a real one until you either sniff it or touch it.

We've gone over to the dark side.

By the way, the title of this post comes from a PDQ Bach song. You have to listen to it. Really. I laugh until I cry when I hear it.
