Top Ten Windows Forms Applications

Recently, someone reforwarded me this CNet article on the “smart“ client — a client that’s not just rich, but also uses local processing power wisely, local resources (like the disk drive or peripherals), and can go online and offline smoothly. I began to look at the Windows Forms applications that folks had coded or forwarded me, and I realized I had a “top 9“ list. What’s the tenth great Windows Forms application?

  1. Broderbund/Riverdeep The Print Shop

  2. Sharpreader

  3. RSSBandit

  4. SharpDevelop

  5. FrontRange GoldMine

  6. HP Image Zone

  7. Autodesk

  8. CodeGen.NET

  9. Addflow for .NET

  10. ?

    My vote:

    1. SharpReader

    2. Reflector

    3. WebMatrix

    4. SharpDevelop

I would also add Writer ( which is probably the best example on how to write a WinForms app with source code available.
