Windows Mobile event - MEDC 2006. The Content Publishing Perspective.

Well, the team is now back from MEDC in Las Vegas, and apart from some nasty colds, coughs and very unpleasant food-poisoning incident, we all survived unscathed.

In fact, all things considered, this was a wonderful event. Some of the highlights that I can blog about include:

  • Meeting people at the MEDC Content Publishing Booth who were genuinely interesting in developing for Windows Mobile, and had good suggestions for improving our content.
  • Getting "recognized" at the breakfast, and having nice things said about my MSDN column and blog.
  • Meeting the MVPs, telling them our plans and getting great feedback.
  • Helping out at the labs, including rushing about getting more photocopies made and explaining Virtual PC.
  • Meeting with the many individuals from our partner companies. It's wonderful to be able to put a face to a name, and brainstorm over collaborative projects.

MEDC is a real information blast, and I know it'll take we a few weeks to consolidate everything I learnt and use the information to shape our own plans. One thing I do know: there has never been a better time to be an ISV writing applications for Windows Mobile. The platform is great, the docs are getting better every day, and in this team, we're making real efforts to provide the information you need in the best format we can. Thanks for a wonderful year, and hope to see even more of you at MEDC 2007!
