OneNote is #1 underhyped Windows application on Lifehacker

On the one hand, this is great news:

On the other, I'm not sure what "underhyped" means.  I'm just glad we wound up #1!  (And does this blog count as hyping ?)

Questions, comments, concerns and criticisms always welcome,

  1. I agree. OneNote's Twitter account, for example, hasn't been tweeted from in ages. To find this blog, I had to go to an ancient site and find it from there; it didn't appear in search results when searching "OneNote resources" or on the first page results for "OneNote blogs" even. I'm currently finishing up writing OneNote For Dummies, which ten years after the product's first release is finally being written. There seems to be a dearth of documentation for this app. For OneNote 2013 there are so far NO templates listed at The documentation for OneNote for Windows 8 (the "Metro" app) is dated and sparse. I feel like I'm writing the first decent documentation for this product myself with my book!

When is your book being released?

  3. I'm actually not sure at this point. I'm finishing up the second-to-last chapter now. I would probably expect it in May at the earliest IF Microsoft doesn't release any major updates to the iOS or Android versions before the book is done, which is possible.
