A post today on [ Teknoglot ] reports that the MSMQ Management Pack may return “Subscript Out of Range” when trying to discover public queues on servers that don’t have any. I’ll see if I can repro this and raise a bug with the product group.
Browsing the Internet, I found the [ Teknoglot ] blog which mentions that the MSMQ 3.0 Management Pack has been updated. No details in the guide with the update as to what has been changed but probably worth downloading the latest build (24 April 2009, v6.0.6587.0).
Sometimes products just appear out on the wild without any publicity. Prime example is this management pack for MSMQ 4.0 which came out a few months ago. It’s been a long time coming but the MSMQ Management Pack to help you monitor MSMQ 3.0 has finally been published. If you go to the System Center Pack Catalogue the MSMQ MP is listed (added yesterday) or go straight here to grab a copy.
The story for MSMQ and MOM is not great. There is a Message Queue Management Pack for MOM which collects MSMQ events in Windows application event logs.Unfortunately this has not been updated since the release of Microsoft® Operations Manager 2000 SP1 but it should still work in MOM 2005.
