There’s a Vista stability patch that is not available on Windows Update

Found a Vista patch that “improves the compatibility, reliability, and stability of Windows Vista”.

Well, actually, my machine found it through “problem reports and solutions” (great Vista feature) after it crashed  J

An update is available that improves the compatibility, reliability, and stability of Windows Vista

I have no idea why this update is not available as an option on Windows Update.

You might want to download it anyway to improve your “user experience”.

Actually these patches (and another 2) are approx 3 weeks old already. The stability patch has caused booting problems to many who applied them, so you might want to wait until the patch is actually on WU.
