This will be interesting...

So I'm sitting here in my hotelroom, having some real problems getting some sleep, but am also really excited to have this blog setup...
I am currently attending the PDC (Professional Developers Conference) in Los Angeles, and it's just great. The keynote that Bill Gates gave monday morning was really interesting, laying out the future ahead and describing how Microsoft as a company will continue to invest in technology to make people realize their potential and grow beyond their imagination.
The keynote that Jim Allchin gave after Bill was the absolute best keynote ever (and, yes, I'ver seen a couple of them), the demonstrations of Longhorn was truly amazing, I'm really looking forward diving into the different aspects and technologies.
The day continued with some really cool breakout sessions, I got to see some more of Avalon which is the presentation layer of Longhorn, as well as some of the improvements we are doing in the Visual Studio "Whidbey" released, set to ship in the second half oc CY04, can't wait...
Eric Rudder gave the keynote on tuesday morning and that also showed the improvements we are making in the Whidbey release as well as the SQL Server "Yukon" release, I was blown away with the mobility-demonstrations as well as the new capabilities of the ASP.NET pieces of the framework.
The best break-out session so far was Anders Hejlsberg's drill down into the new language features of C# in the Whidbey release, generics, anonymous methods, iterators and nullable value types was demonstrated and it's just awesome.
Well, I'm getting tired again and the clock is turning 3 AM so I think I better try to get some sleep, the future is closing in and tomorrow's a new day with great sessions, and naturally some more blogs...
