I never like to really slam a book. Authors work so hard for so little money, but this book was so mistitled it was a waste of money. The title “Web Radio – Radio Production for Internet Streaming” suggests that the books subject matter is the audio production process for broadcasting over the internet.
What the book is really about is the history of radio and the philosophy of “radio” over the internet. There is alot of discussion about target audiences and what business differences exist between traditional radio and internet radio and about whether or not internet media will displace conventional media delivery.
Not an entirely worthless discussion, but the book certainly is not what the title leads one to believe.
There is one chapter on the actual media production process and that chapter is very good. It’s just now worth what I paid for the entire book.
