Kudos to Bill Gates (or... the failing state of US Education)

Bill gates appeared on ABC News tonight in a segment on the Imagine Cup. In the clip Bill was talking about the challenges in education and expressed his concern about the relative quality of education in the USA.

 

Kudos to Bill for this concern and attention,. While the commercial, post secondary education system in the USA is going strong, the Primary, Elementary and Secondary public school systems appear to be failing.

 

I guess I can spend my retirement funds on making sure my children get the best possible start in life by sending them to private schools.

 

My children’s private PRE-school offers kindergarten tuition starting at a mere $8000 per child per year. I estimate that we can provide our two little angels with 1st class HIGH SCHOOL educations for about ON MILLION DOLLARS.

 

Unfortunately, that may not leave much for University…..
