SharePoint 2016 June 2017 CU

SharePoint Server 2016 and the next cumulative update is available. We may call it public update in the future, in short PU.

In addition, for this month our SharePoint product group decided to also add the “Feature Pack 1” to the cumulative update. Be sure you read the blog post from Bill Baer to learn more: https://blogs.office.com/2016/11/08/feature-pack-1-for-sharepoint-server-2016-now-available/

Download it from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=55402

After installing the fixes (both packages!) you need to run the SharePoint 2016 Products Configuration Wizard on each machine in the farm. If you prefer to run the command line version psconfig.exe ensure to have a look here for the correct options.

SharePoint 2016 CU Build Number: 16.0.4549.1000 and for the language independent 16.0.4549.1001
The language independent Fix updates the configuration database schema – so the configuration database schema version will show the version number above.

You can use the SharePoint Server 2016 Patch Build Numbers PowerShell Module to identify the patch level of your SharePoint components.

  1. I tried to apply the patch for OOS and after running it a message is displayed "The expected version of the product was not found on the system". We have OOS 2016 w/May 2017 CU applied..

    1. With my experience I have from SharePoint 2013, I forgot to patch an additional language pack "again" with SP1, I got that message with the expected version is not here... How it is with OOS I don't know, that will be handled by our Office support team.
