Windows SharePoint Services V3 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 are now be able to get updated to the latest available bits with August CU.
The sizes of the packages are now smaller than in the past. This is because you need to have SP2 installed so that not all fixes between SP1 and SP2 are necessary to ship with each CU.
Some KB Articles are available but not all. Unfortunately not everything is available at the same time but it will be better and better. The “General” article for the CU’s is new for me but is a good starting point when you plan to upgrade with a CU.
953878 Cumulative updates are available from the Microsoft Office team to fix reported problems
We offer still the fastest way to update with the two Full Server packages containing all the smaller and language specific ones. When the both kb articles are available you will see all the packlets.

After applying the preceding updates, run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard or “psconfig –cmd upgrade –inplace b2b -wait” in command line. This needs to be done on every server in the farm with SharePoint installed.
