Working on problems

Some of you have encountered problems successfully downloading, registering or installing Beta 2. As you know, Microsoft just released two of the biggest betas in our history simultaneously and we’ve encountered a couple problems.

  • Our download capacity has been expanded, so downloading shouldn’t be a problem anymore.
  • At this point the load on the activation servers is the bottleneck.

We are working on a fix and that should address the problem and folks should keep trying to get through.

Sorry for the trouble!

  1. Congratulations to the genius who came up with the idea of releasing those two betas at the same time. Any beta tester could have told you that that is a really bad idea.

    But it sounds soooo cool!

It’s unfortunate that this bombardment won’t be enough to have them do away with this ‘activation’ crap 🙁

I had absolultely no problems downloading Office 2k7 though – I’m only using Outlook, but so far I’m very happy with what I see.  A few things missing and able to be improved on, but so far so good.  Have submitted four bugs so far today which I’m sure will get fixed.

I’m having a bit of a hard time trying to find out who’s on the Outlook dev team though, so I can find out more and report any feedback I have to give.

This tool is the best way to get feedback to the teams.
