Random thoughts on Bill G transition plans

You've no doubt heard that "Bill Gates said Thursday he will transition from day-to-day responsibilities at the company to concentrate on the charitable work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation." It will obviously be sad to see Bill transition to part-time, but I'm optimistic at the cause that motivates him. I think Bill has nothing left to prove in software and the charity work is a very noble calling. This will also be a great chance for other folks to really shine.

One of my pet peeves is people who are mad at Bill simply because he has a lot of money (this seemed to be more frequent back when he was worth $100 billion). Merely having money is not a sin, and his record of donations has been very generous. Besides, he can only give it away so fast, and once he gives it away, it's gone. Transitioning full time to charity work is a good cause, and I personally find his move inspirational.
