It’s been about a year since
started blogging. At first, I wasn’t sure if I should do it because I
couldn’t think of what to blog about and
didn’t think I’d have anything interesting to say. I remember asking
Steve Steiner, and
Gregg Miskelly if I should start a
blog and they encouraged me to. In retrospect, it’s been great and my blog-todo
list is about 40 entries deep (with some of them listed
I’ve enjoyed writing about these topics. I think Microsoft’s overall blogging
activity is really wonderful, and I’m glad to be part of that.
Some of the things I specifically enjoyed are:
1) Building up large database of blog entries. It’s great to be able to tell
people "I have a detailed answer to your question on my blog". I think at this
point, it’s actually saving me time.
2) Adding links. For whatever reason, I get a real kick out of being able to add
useful hyperlinks to my blog entries.
3) I Actually feel like I’m providing useful information to customers.
4) My entries have good rankings in msn.search + google queries for related
topics. That tells me that I’m hitting the area.
Some stats: total blog entries: 129 (not including this one).
I’ve found it interesting which entries people like and don’t like. FWIW, here are my 10 most popular blog entries based on web hits:
