Jeffrey Richter & Jennifer Smith at Windows 8 Meetup–January 8th

Windows 8 MeetupThe Boston Windows 8 App Developers and IT Group is starting the New Year off with a bang, featuring two well-known speakers at the next meeting, Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Microsoft Office at 1 Cambridge Center in Cambridge, MA.

Jeffrey Richter, co-founder of Wintellect and author of CLR via C# (among many other works), will be presenting to the group on the packaging aspects of Windows 8 Store applications, including the use of the application manifest to configure application capabilities and declarations. He’ll also explain how Windows manages the installation, upgrade, and uninstallation of applications on the Windows 8 platform, and in doing so cover the various means of deployment for testing, side-loading, enterprise distribution, and, of course, the Windows Store.

Also on tap, is Jennifer Smith, a principal at Avlade, who is a Microsoft MVP for Expression Blend and has served as the Microsoft Artist-in-Residence. Jennifer will be covering the ins and outs of Windows 8 user experience design and provide tips on how to avoid common mistakes!

Given the topics and speakers, we expect this one to fill up quickly, so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible.
