Game on! at New England VB User Group–Mar. 1st

RockPaperAzureIf you’re in the Boston area and haven’t yet had a chance to get in on the RockPaperAzure gig consider stopping by the New England Visual Basic User Group this Thursday, March 1, beginning at 6:15. 

I’ll be running a session covering how we built this game around Windows Azure, and you’ll have a chance to deploy your own game instance live to your very own corner of the cloud.  We’ll have a few prizes on hand as well – including a Microsoft Kinect!

To fully participate, bring your laptop (Windows Vista or Windows 7) and :

  1. Install Visual Studio 2010 Professional (or higher) or Visual Web Developer Express 2010 (a free download)
  2. Install the Windows Azure SDK for .NET
  3. Provision a no-risk, free 3-month Windows Azure trial account (see my screencast for a walkthrough).

If you don’t have Windows Vista or Windows 7, don’t let that stop you from coming! You’ll still be able to play along, we just may buddy you up with someone!
