New England Code Camp – March 31st

It’s that time again! New England Code Camp returns for its 17th iteration(!) on March 31st at the Microsoft Office in Waltham, MA.

New England Code Camp 17: “Where it all began…” Saturday, March 31, 2012 8:30 AM – 6:40 PM + post-event gathering Microsoft, 201 Jones Road, Waltham, MA Register now at: https://necodecamp17.eventbrite.com

Code Camp

As with all the Code Camps – beginning with the first in 2004 – this one will be free to all and organized for and by the developer community. A perusal of last Code Camp’s schedule provides a glimpse into the breadth of technologies represented at these event: Kinect, jQuery, Azure, SharePoint, node.js and more.

Consider speaking!

What will this edition look like?  Well, that’s up to you!  Code Camp is a great, low-pressure way to showcase what you’re working on and technologies you are passionate about. It’s all about community – you – after all!  If you’re interested in presenting, register as a speaker and use the session proposal form to submit as many abstracts as you like; sessions are typically 75 minutes long, including time for Q&A.  Be sure to submit your presentation before March 24th.

Consider sponsoring!

As a free event, sponsorships are absolutely vital to the success of each Code Camp. It’s a great opportunity for technical and recruitment companies to have a very visible presence among the best and brightest in the New England technical community. Sponsorship opportunities span from meals (breakfast and lunch) to giveaways and SWAG, and you’ll get a call out well at the event kick-off. If you’re interested in helping support the event, please let me know.

Thanks in Advance!

Thanks to all of those planning to attend – whether you’re a first timer or a seasoned veteran. The event wouldn’t be possible without the team of organizers, so pass on a word of thanks to Patrick Hynds, Robert Goodearl, John Zablocki, and Chris Pels when you come.

Thanks too to Microsoft’s Jones Road facility for being the home of New England Code Camp since the beginning. It’s a somewhat bittersweet moment, since this will be the last New England Code Camp to be held there.  As you may know, the Waltham facility will be closing later this year as the Microsoft presence consolidates in Cambridge. Rest assured, Code Camp 18 is already being planned for Microsoft NERD (New England Research and Development Center).
