Imagine Cup on .NET Rocks

Imagine Cup is a worldwide technology competition bringing together teams of students building innovative software solutions focused on solving some of the world’s toughest problems.  For the first time ever, the finals will be held in the United States, just down the road in New York City. 

Our academic evangelist team has been hard at work for months spreading the word among colleges and universities in the Northeast, and recently Andrew Parsons and Alfred Thompson sat down with the .NET Rocks crew to chat about Imagine Cup and inspiring students to become involved in programming and technology:

Carl and Richard talk to Andrew Parsons and Alfred Thompson about getting students interested in programming. The conversation spans over use of computers in schools, teaching fundamental uses of computers, actual programming, and looking beyond. Andrew gets into Imagine Cup, a world-wide competition of students building software to change the world.

Andrew is also chairing the Game Design track of the competition and planning a couple of Game Camps in the area – including one in Rochester next weekend.  He’s also committed to hosting some on-line meetings to discuss the competition, so keep your eye on his blog for more details.
