Windows 7 Peek at RC

I hope that wasn’t too much of a tease.  No, I don’ t have people in high places or any clout to pull strings; however, I did catch wind today of a recent post to the Windows 7 team blog.  To call it a ‘post’ does it an injustice though.

Chaitanya Sareen does a great run through of three dozen changes in the areas of user experience, touch, Windows Media Player, performance and more.  What’s more remarkable to me though is the way he’s captured the partnership between Microsoft and the beta testers.  A great many of the points he touches on are accompanied by comments and specific quotes from actual beta testers, real people with real names.  I can’t imagine how long it took him to put together this post, but I think its value goes way beyond the factual information it contains.

If you’re poking around with Windows 7 (and, I’m ashamed to say, I haven’t been as much as I’d like) take a break and give it a read.
