The good news: Netflix’s implementation of Silverlight for instant viewing of movies has been a great success, with Steve Swasey, VP of Corporate Communications for Netflix, noting that
‘our player is much easier to install and use now with Silverlight’
The bad news: The ease-of-use has left their technical specialists in the Customer Service group underutilized, to the point that 50 of them will be let go in January, and another 15 reassigned internally.
