Love a Condiment With Booze In It

Ok, the jury may still be out on the new Seinfeld-Gates ads, and I think a lot of us were wondering what was up with the first one.  Segments from the next installment premiered last night,  and more 60-second sets from the longer clip will premiere tonight.  I just got a chance to see the full version  now, and it's a riot -- I took the title of this post from one of my favorite lines.  The quips from grandma are classic, and reminiscent of 'sticky' slogans like Seinfeld's own "yada, yada, yada" and Wendy's "Where's the Beef" - ok, I'm dating myself.  And mercifully, Bill's closing robot moves are well...uh...less unsettling than the shorts adjustment from the first ad.

There's been a lot of discussion over 'what's the point' and 'I don't see how this is selling Vista.'  I'm not sure what people were expecting, but with Seinfeld signed on, I certainly anticipated something right down this alley - after all didn't he have the 'show about nothing'?   And as for selling Vista, that always seemed like such a narrow view of the intent.  And what is the intent, you ask?  Well given all the feedback in blogs and in the media, the Windows Vista Team blog has a good overview.
