Monsters, Titan CTP3 and This holiday weekend

Just in case you haven't been keeping up with Phil's blog lately might find this tidbit about the Titan CTP3 enlightening. This, to me, is the most exciting bit, "We’ll soon be opening up access to Titan (bits or VPC) to a wider partner audience." I suspect it will be exciting to many of the MVPs, ISVs, and partners who are eager to take this version for a trial run.

young-frankenstein-136px This holiday weekend will find Suzy and me attending the new Mel Brooks musical, Young Frankenstein before it heads to Broadway. Megan Mullally ("Will and Grace") is in the cast and the play is at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle for this highly-anticipated preview run. We love peeking at the pit band, taking stock of the various and sundry instruments, and talking to the musicians and if we're really lucky, sax players. :o)

JaAGwje Sunday my aptly named jazz combo the Dissonance will be playing at the Ballard locks. This nine piece combo includes Matt Stoecker on bone, Gary Anderson on trumpet, Suzy on alto sax and me on tenor sax. We also have a stellar rhythm section made up of Brad Benefield on bass, Tim Coffee on drums, Saul Candib on keys, and Robert Silver on guitar. Our very sexy vocalist is Ellie Ellinghausen.

I've played at Ballard Locks earlier this year and I really like the venue which is wide open with gentle grass lawns and views of the water behind the band. I'm hoping Jeff Miller can find time to take photos again as the Dissonance Web site needs to be updated a bit to indicate that we come in two flavors; a jazz xtet where x = the number of players who show up and a big band which is comprised of Microsofties usually only playing for the King County Day of Caring.

Take care and here's hoping your weekend is busy and fun too.
