Visual Studio 2005 SDK - September CTP

The Visual Studio 2005 SDK community tech preview (CTP) is ready for the world. I'll try to blog more later. I'm in a meeting. :o)

Okay, I'm back. The September VS SDK CTP is used with the August release of Visual Studio. Murray asks what the difference is between the VSIP beta 2 release and the September CTP. Time marches on Murray. There are new samples and updated docs in this release that are not in the VSIP beta 2 release.

Additionally you can now restore the help for a specific version of the VS SDK. For example, install the September VS SDK and if for any reason you want to go back to the August VS SDK there is an option to retain the newer help and samples. Go to the Add/Remove program applet and select the September VS SDK CTP click "Change" and you will have the option to restore the August VS SDK CTP but retain the September help. Future versions of the VS SDK will have this feature too. So you can feel more comfortable about trying the newest, bestest, brightest stuff knowing that you can roll back to the last known good release if necessary.
