Viva La Mexico! y dispositivos enbarcados (can you figure it out?)

Hola Amigos!

I’m here in Mexico City visiting some of our partners. Very interesting city! (there’s like 20 million people here) I’ve been here before, but it’s been a really long time. I am much more familiar with the “tourist” parts of Mexico (Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo…). The city literally sprawls for miles and miles. and oy! the traffic! those of you reading this in Redmond, we have no traffic congestion compared to here.

we’ve been working with our Partners at Avnet here in Mexico City – Aldo Zepeda and Eduardo Bobadilla. They’re great guys, who have a passion for the Microsoft Embedded products! we’ve visited several WEPoS OEM’s while here. There’s a wealth of opportunity here in Mexico, as they don’t upgrade hardware as often as we do in the US. some of the POS terminals are 15-20 years old! so as they migrate to new hardware, the logical choice is WEPoS/Windows Embedded POSReady. They’ve all been particularly impressed with the POS for .NET subsystem, which allows for standards-based Plug and play on retail peripherals. (Think Barcode, cash Drawer, Mag stripe reader, Receipt printers, etc.)

Here’s (from left) Me, Eduardo Bobadilla, our BDM, Julio Charpentier, and Aldo Zepeda, sampling some of the local cuisine! Great food, Great Company!

And now a word to my new friends:

Tuve un gran tiempo con ustedes, mis nuevos amigos aquí en Mexico! He disfrutado de los nuevos socios y clientes! Espero verte en algún momento en Redmond para que pueda devolver la hospitalidad!

Buenos Noches!  off to find some more local cuisine!  (and maybe some tequila too!)
