Chinese student has changed his phone 500 times in 9 years – really?

According to this article 24 year old Zhang Yi has had 500 Mobile Phones in the past 9 years.

I get a lot of mobile devices and I don't think I've had anywhere near that kind of churn of devices!

Supposedly (like me) he's still searching for the perfect mobile... which just when I think I've found it... a new one comes along that I think will be the perfect device!

It's an interesting article but I'm not sure I buy it....

Supposedly he had 14 mobiles from 1998 to 2002 which leaves 486 from 2002 to 2007 (5 years)

Which doing the math...

365 days x 5 years = 1825 days

1825 days divided by 486 phones = 3.75 days

I just don't buy that this guy had a new phone every 4 days....

He either has a huge income (but is a student), wealthy parents or a very understanding mobile operator.....

I wish, I could change my phone that much!  Maybe he returns his phone within 30 days…some people allow that, but still.  I’d hate to be their OEM….
