[OFFTOPIC] the coolest non-windows mobile thing i’ve seen for a while – anagram

Whilst my blog is dedicated to Windows Mobile - I often come across really amazing technologies and solutions that just astound me.  Often it's the most simple things that are the best and this is certainly one of them.

The product is called Anagram - well what does it do...

I get lots of email 🙁 - I spend a lot of time copy/pasting people's contact information into a new Contact or creating a Calendar item from an email.  Now I know you can drop/drop those and it goes some way to helping but Anagram is so very cool...

Let me give you two scenarios to help explain what this little utility does :

1) You get an email from a new contact and in their email signature is their contact information for example.

Hi Jason

Good to meet you last week.  Look forward to meeting you again soon.

Normally I'll want to add that person into my contacts.  With Anagram all you have to do is  highlight the contact information and press Ctrl-c twice.  Anagram then parses the contact information and creates a new contact with all the right information in the correct fields!

2) The second scenario is that I often get emails like...

Hi Jason

Let's meet next Wednesday at 12:00.

In this example - you just highlight the text in the email - press Ctrl-c twice and it parses the text - realises it's an appointment and creates an appointment for midday next wednesday automatically!

I'd really encourage you to give it a try!! I love it!
