Your idea, our legs

The Microsoft Mobile App Awards

Can you create an innovative and easy-to-use mobile application, with real commercial potential? Microsoft is offering a lot more than just cool mobile devices and free Visual Studio 2005 software as prizes for the best in each of our six mobile applications competition categories.

Take your idea to market

Winners will receive great prizes including; a Qtek 9100 Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 device; free version of Visual Studio 2005; tailored marketing services and support plus access to the globally recognised Mobile2Market programme; plus free distribution through and to help you convert your idea into a sales success.

Develop your application on Windows Mobile

All applications entered in the competition must be developed for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. Competition categories cover consumer and business applications, and there's no limit to the number of applications you can enter.

A team of independent adjudicators will select winners based on a two-stage assessment process. Stage 1 will evaluate your initial idea in terms of originality and category fit. Stage 1 winners will then be invited to participate in Stage 2, where applicants will be invited to develop their applications using the new windows mobile developer resource kit which will be sent to you. Applicants at this stage will be judged on creativity, including the design and use of the latest tools, and on technology, such as .net compact Framework 2.0, as well as ease-of-use.

To give your idea legs, submit the competition registration form to register your interest. You will then be contacted shortly with further competition details.
