Attending Game 4 of the Baseball World Series

I just got home from a whirlwind trip to St. Louis to see the Cardinals play the Boston Red Sox in the World Series. A good friend of mine (thanks Brian) had an extra ticket and asked if I wanted to attend. I jumped at the chance because I have been a St. Louis Cardinal fan all of my life.

I can categorize the outcome of the game and series as follows. As a baseball fan I was glad to see Boston win a World Series. An added benefit is the media can stop talking about the curse. As a Cardinal fan I was disappointed because the people who have not seen the Cardinals play all year didn't really get to see the team that won 105 games in the regular season and then beat the Dodgers and the Astros to get to the World Series. The team played much better during the season than what they showed against Boston. Most of the credit for the Cardinals playing poorly has to go to Boston.

Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox. As for the Cardinals, all I can say is something I learned growing up in Chicago, "there is always next year".
