Gov 2.0 – Why Governments need to engage

There are a number of reasons why Governments need to start looking at Gov 2.0.  One of those reasons is because citizens are using these tools to talk about what is going on in Governments already.  Governments need to get involved in these online debates and start putting their viewpoint across.  If they don't, the debate will continue – but their views will not be represented.

One example of this is from Ireland.  United Minds is trying to propose a new way of interacting with the Irish Government.  Ross O’Mullane is trying to get elected into Government to enable this change and has a great video highlighting the issues that he wants to improve.

So how can the existing Government challenge this?  They need to get online and get involved in the debate.
