:) Why are many Arctic shrubs evergreen?

Answer: There are only a fewsummer months at the Arctic suitable for the plants to photosynthesize and make their food. So,Arctic plants have adapted by keeping on theleaves formed in late summer, protected by dead leaves formed earlier in the year, so that they are ready to photosynthesize and make their food as soon as spring returns, loosing no time to leaf growing.
