SYSK 198: What is CodePlex?

Did you know that CodePlex is a new developer oriented web site containing source code for projects like “Ascend.NET” Windows forms controls (http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=ASCENDNET), “Atlas” control toolkit (http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=AtlasControlToolkit), ShartMap (a library for rendering geographic data for use in desktop or web applications, http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=SharpMap) , IM.net (http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=imnet), Configurable .NET Workflow Engine (workflow without a line of code, http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=DotNetWorkflowEngine) and many, many more!

The site is hosted by Microsoft, and was created to support a community of developers working on projects using Microsoft technologies.  It’s a great way to collaborate, and it has source code management and bug tracking capabilities.

CodePlex is built using ASP.NET and Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server.  Check it out at http://www.codeplex.com/.
