Josh Holmes: Architecture of RIA

I am finishing putting together the video from Josh Holmes’ recent visit to Dublin.  If you’re looking for his slides, you can find them here.

In the meantime, I wanted to post a link to a couple of posts Josh has.

First of all, here’s a link to “Architecture of RIA from JAOO”: Architecture of RIA from JAOO.  This is a great blog entry where Josh describes a joint session he did with James Ward from Adobe at the JAOO conference.  The reason this is such a useful blog entry is because Josh basically walks you through his Architecture of RIA slide deck, which is quite similar to what he talked about in Dublin.  He has a link to the full set of slides on slideshare.net, and then he walks the reader through many of the individual slides and describes what they mean and why the concepts are important for people designing, developing and architecting RIAs.  If you didn’t get to make it to the talk in Dublin, this is well worth a read.  If you did, it’s a great refresher.

I also think it’s awesome because how often do you get to see an evangelist from Adobe and an evangelist from Microsoft on stage together?

The other link is of course Josh’s wrap-up of his European tour: image http://www.joshholmes.com/2008/10/22/EuropeanSilverlightTour.aspx  Josh traveled for several weeks around Europe talking about RIA Architecture and Silverlight, and ended his tour right here in Dublin.  When you read the post, you really get a feel for how long Josh was on the road, the people with whom he interacted, and the impressions he made wherever he went.  I know the folks in Dublin certainly enjoyed having him here, and it’s easy to see that he got warm welcomes everywhere he went.

As soon as I have the video ready, I’ll post it on this blog as well.
