Bye Bye .NET Services! Hello AppFabric

Windows Azure Platform .NET Services (Service Bus and Access Control Service) is now called Windows Azure Platform AppFabric.

Windows Azure platform AppFabric provides Service Bus and Access Control for you and your business partners to bridge assets across cloud, on-premises, or hosted deployment locations, and to interoperate across languages, platforms, and standards.

The Azure AppFabric is web-based developer services that make it simpler to connect and interoperate your existing applications and services with the cloud regardless of cloud provider or programming platform. AppFabric helps developers focus on their application logic rather than deploying and managing their own cloud-based infrastructure.

That is not to be confused with Windows Server AppFabric which consists of Dublin and Velocity. Windows Server AppFabric is a set of integrated technologies that make it easier to build, scale and manage Web and composite applications that run on IIS.
